You can down load the software now by clicking this link VSCOST.EXE

The VS COST - Grinding Evaluation Program requires the user to input information about the grinding operation. The default data can be changed by entering the number. A complete help function is provided for the inputs. The help includes segment and wheel types, typical grinding ratios and removal rates, and calculates the number of parts that can fit on a chuck. A typical input screen is shown below:

VSCOST uses this data to create a grinding cost analysis. The software calulates the production rate, cost per part, suggested feedrates, and the downfeed required to complete the load. The typical output screen is shown below:

The software has a print function. The typical printed output can be viewed by accessing the sample shown in Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format. Click to view sample VSCOST-Print.pdf

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I print using this program? There have been some problems reported when attempting to print using VSCOST software. Nowadays, many laser and jet printers have powerful features but cannot print simple text accurately. Besides, some inexpensive printers can not print in text mode at all (the so-called win-printers). If you have a printer that only uses soft windows fonts then you may wish to consider downloading the DOSPRN shareware. This is a link to their website: http://www.dosprn.com/

This DOSPRN program helps to extend the life of old DOS programs by restoring print function. DOSPRN allows you to use a good old DOS program with new printers irrespective of their types (Yes, USB and network printers, print-servers, and PDF-printers too!)
